Crochet the Pompom

For the pompom you need a fork and Wine Red yarn. Wrap the yarn at least 10 times over 3 prongs of the fork.

  • Wrap a Wine Red thread around the bundle on the prongs and tie together once.

  • Pull the bundle and thread from the fork and tighten again, knot two more strong knots to prevent the bundle from slipping.

  • Cut the loops with a pair of scissors into a pompom.

  • Cut the threads to the same length and unravel them, except the thread with which the bundle was knotted together.

Assembling

Legs: After you’ve finished crocheting all pieces, start sewing the legs onto the body. Start sewing the first leg onto the body directly over the edge that was created by the round that was crocheted only into the back loop. Sew on the second leg 4 to 5 stitches left or right from the first leg, again just over the edge.

Arms: Sew the arms left and right onto the body, 1 stitch row under the “neck”. Do not sew the arms directly over the legs but slightly behind the legs.

Eyes: Attach the safety eyes after the 7th stitch row counting from the top center of the head. The eyes are 4 stitches apart from each other. Back to the crochet pattern.

Nose: Sew the nose to the head centered below the eyes.

Hat: Pick up a thread of the pompon with the tapestry needle and pull it from above through the middle of the hat.

Now pick up the second thread and pull it from above through any stitch next to the middle.

Both threads are now knotted together on the inside of the hat and the remaining threads are cut off.

Finally, place the cap on the snowman and sew it onto the head if necessary.

Scarf: Wrap the scarf around the neck and knot it together once.

Buttons: Embroider two buttons with a Black thread in the middle of the body.
