Amigurumi Smurf Crochet Pattern

Even despite their rather striking blue skin colour, the smurfs have managed to hide successfully in their little forest.

This is even more amazing when you know that you can make gold with a boiled up smurf … somehow.

But if you just want to call a Smurf your own, without the plan to boil it up, you can now crochet one of the total of 100 Smurfs yourself.

This crochet Smurf is exclusively crocheted with single crochet stitches in spiral rounds with increases and decreases and is therefore perfect for beginners.

The depicted Amigurumi Smurf has been crocheted with the “Schachenmayr Catania” yarn with a 2.5 mm crochet hook and has sitting a height of 5.5 cm.

Assembling

Legs: After you’ve finished crocheting all pieces, start sewing the legs onto the body. Start sewing the first leg onto the body directly over the edge that was created by the round that was crocheted only into the back loop. Sew on the second leg 4 to 5 stitches left or right from the first leg, again just over the edge.

Arms: Sew the arms left and right onto the body, 1 stitch row under the “neck”. Do not sew the arms directly over the legs but slightly behind the legs.

Eyes: Attach the safety eyes after the 7th stitch row counting from the top center of the head. The eyes are 4 stitches apart from each other.

Nose: Sew the nose to the head slightly down in the middle between the eyes.

Ears: Sew the ears 3 to 4 stitches right and left from the eyes onto the head, so that the upper part of the ear is on the same height as the eyes.

Eyebrows: Embroider the eyebrows with a Black thread diagonally above the eyes onto the head.

Hat: Fill the tip of the hat with some polyfill and then fold the tip of the hat. In order to keep the tip that way, sew the folded tip to the lower part of the hat with a White thread.

Put the hat on the head of the smurf. If required, the hat can also be sewn on.

Tail: Embroider the tail with a Capri colored thread. Embroider the tail in the middle of the back onto the White area of the body. Pull the thread horizontally several times from one stitch through the next. Repeat this multiple times to create a small stubby tail.
