Amigurumi Crochet Mouse Bookmark – “Book Mouse”

Este post también está disponible en: Español Français

The mouse, not just a cheese gourmet but also inquisitive and well read. The Book-Mouse is similar to her larger cousin the Book Rat, quite a curious being, till it got squished one day by a pile of books and is serving since then as a mouse bookmark.

As unhappy as the mouse itself is with her current situation, the more happy are all the bookworms out there benefiting from her now flattened state to be able to always mark their last read page in their favorite book.

The Book-Mouse is crocheted in spiral rounds with single crochet stitches, chain stitches and slip stitches and is therefore very beginner-friendly. Apart from the ears and the eyes, the complete amigurumi mouse is crocheted in one piece, which is why this is the perfect crochet pattern for everyone who does not like sewing.

The depicted Book-Mouse has a length of 12 cm (nose tip to body end) or 31 cm (nose tip to tail end) and was made with the “Schachenmayr Catania” and a 2.5 mm crochet hook.

Use the check boxes to mark your finished rounds, rows and steps.

Assembling the Mouse

Pupils: Take a Black thread and form a circle with it, same as if you would do a basic knot. Wind one end of the thread 3 times through the circle and then tighten.

Using a tapestry needle, pull both ends of the thread through the center of the eye and fasten them on the inside of the eye with several knots so that the pupil can not slip through the middle.

Eyes: Sew the eyes 3 stitch rows after the the nose onto the head with a distance of 1 stitch to each other at the narrowest point.

Ears: Sew the ears 2 stitch rows above the eyes with 3 to 4 stitches onto the head with a distance of 3 stitches to each other.
