Este post también está disponible en: Español Français

Cthulhu, one of the great old ones, who sleeps under the seas in the city of R’lyeh. It is said that the mere sight of him drives every man mad, should he ever awaken.

If you are personally averse to madness, you can crochet this small, much handier, much cuter and less vicious mini version yourself.

Cthulhu is crocheted with chain stitches, slip stitches and single crochet stitches in spiral rounds and in rows and is easy to crochet.

The depicted amigurumi Cthulhu has been crocheted with the “Schachenmayr Catania” yarn with a 2.5 mm crochet hook and has sitting a height of 4.5 cm and a wingspan of 8 cm.

Assembling

Legs: After you’ve finished crocheting all pieces, start sewing the legs onto the body. Start sewing the first leg onto the body directly over the edge that was created by the round that was crocheted only into the back loop. Sew on the second leg 6 to 7 stitches left or right from the first leg, again just over the edge.

Arms: Sew the arms left and right onto the body, 1 stitch row under the “neck”. Do not sew the arms directly over the legs but slightly behind the legs.

Eyes: Attach the safety eyes after the 7th stitch row counting from the top center of the head. The eyes are 4 stitches apart from each other. Back to the crochet pattern.

Tentacles: Attach the two Pine colored long tentacles in the middle of the stitch row directly under the eyes to the head.

Attach the short tentacles at the same height onto the right and left side of the long tentacles.

The three Khaki colored tentacles are attached onto the head one stitch row underneath.

Eyebrows: Attach the eyebrows onto the head diagonally above the eyes, as shown in the picture.

Bulges: Attach the long bulges centered onto the head. The two short bulges are attached to the right and left, approx. 1 to 2 stitches from the long bulge, onto the head.

Wings: Sew the wings on the back onto the body, approx. 4 to 5 stitches apart.
