Este post también está disponible en: Español Français

Cupid, the god of love. An adolescent boy who randomly shoots at everyone with spirit-altering arrows, whether you like it or not. Cupid was not only popular in ancient Greece but still is today, thanks to the invention of Valentine’s Day.

If you want to feel a bit more love or want to share your love with someone without being shot at with potentially deadly arrows, you can now crochet your own little Cupid. Even in a childproof version without bow and arrow.

This crochet Cupid is crocheted with chain stitches, single crochet stitches, half double crochet stitches, double crochet stitches, loop stitches and slip stitches in spiral rounds and is easy to crochet.

The depicted amigurumi Cupid has been crocheted with the “Schachenmayr Catania” yarn with a 2.5 mm crochet hook and has sitting a height of 6 cm.

Assembling

Eyes: Attach the safety eyes after the 7th stitch row counting from the top center of the head. The eyes are 4 stitches apart from each other. Back to the crochet pattern.

Legs: Now sew the legs onto the body. Start sewing the first leg onto the body directly over the edge that was created by the round that was crocheted only into the back loop. Sew on the second leg 4 to 5 stitches left or right from the first leg, again just over the edge.

Arms: Sew the arms left and right onto the body, 1 stitch row under the “neck”. Do not sew the arms directly over the legs but slightly behind the legs.

Nose: Embroider the nose with a Soft Apricot thread. Embroider the nose centered under the eyes. To do this, pull the thread horizontally several times from one stitch through the next, skipping one stitch. Repeat until a thick nose forms.

Ears: Sew the ears 3 to 4 stitches right and left from the eyes onto the head, so that the upper part of the ear is on the same height as the eyes.

Hair: Then cut the loops of the hair.

Sew on the hair 1 to 2 stitch rows above the eyes. The hair should be sewn on from the forehead above the eyes diagonally down into the neck.

Finally, cut the hair to the desired length.

Wings: Sew the wings centrally on the back, approximately one stitch row above the color change to White, at a distance of 1 to 2 stitches from each other.

Heart: Sew the heart to the “hand” of any arm.
